Swindon council gets the green light to reduce their carbon foot print by going greener a total of sixty seven light will be changed to a more greener environmentally LED.
The traffic light bulbs will be changed from halogen to the new LED costing Swindon council just over £33,0000 in energy and maintenance per year.
The scheme will take about six years to pay back and will take six weeks to complete. There are about 206 traffic lights around the borough. The ne LED will cost less to power and should last longer.
