Wildlife conservation

Councils around the UK are urged to reduce the amount of cutting their grass verges to help the conservation of wildlife.

A number of butterflies have dropped in numbers over last few years, a much needed feed for young fledglings. Butterflies and mouths are a vital part of wildlife and gives a good indicator of the health of our environment and ecology systems. The UK volunteers are being asked to record the numbers of butterfly species they see on local walks. Some butterflies fly from other continents travelling up to 7500 miles to migrate to the UK.
